Orangeburg, N.Y. — Full-time teachers at public or private schools in Rockland and Bergen counties who wish to become certified for positions such as principals or school district administrators are eligible for scholarships to the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University's certification programs.
The scholarship consists of a one-third tuition discount for all courses in the 30-credit school district leader, school building leader or school district business leader advanced certificate programs.
“There is a growing shortage of qualified school and district administrators in this area,” said Charles Murphy, Ed.D., program director of educational administration at the Rockland Graduate Campus. “This scholarship will help more people choose this career path to fill these expected administrative vacancies in the future.”
The Rockland Graduate Campus offers master's degrees and professional certificates in business (including the Fast-Track M.B.A.), counseling and development, education, health administration and non-profit administration and pharmacy. Founded in 1980, the Rockland Graduate Campus has awarded more than 3,000 master's degrees and advanced certificates. The campus offers expert faculty and conveniently scheduled courses that are ideal for working professionals in the lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey.
