Open House Set for Aug. 20 at Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University

Orangeburg, N.Y. – People interested in changing careers or hoping to advance in their current ones, as well as college seniors and recent graduates, can learn about earning a master's degree or advanced certificate at the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University's Open House Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Faculty, admissions and financial aid counselors will be available to discuss graduate programs available from the only university campus in Rockland County. The Rockland Graduate Campus offers 14 degree programs in business administration, health administration, public administration, teacher education, educational leadership, school counseling, mental health counseling and pharmaceutics. Scholarships and financial aid are available.

In addition, a teacher certification information session will be held at 4:30 p.m. and a mental health counseling licensure information session will take place at 5 p.m. Both information sessions are free.

New programs include the Master of Science in education with a specialization in adolescence education (grades 7-12), designed for career-changers looking to become certified teachers, and the Master of Science in special education with a concentration in autism.

The Rockland Graduate Campus offers programs designed for working professionals. The small campus setting features faculty members who are experts in their fields, a low student-to-faculty ratio and a campus support system designed to help students fulfill their educational goals from the first day of classes until graduation. Courses are offered in the late afternoons, evenings and on weekends to afford working students an opportunity to balance their educational objectives with family and business demands.
