Reading Instruction Expert Richard Allington to Hold Seminar at Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University May 15

Orangeburg, N.Y. – School administrators and teachers are invited to a day-long seminar on reading by University of Tennessee professor of education Richard Allington at the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University on Thursday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Allington, the former chair of reading at the University at Albany, is the co-author of many texts for teachers and researchers in the field of reading. His recent work “Big Brother and National Reading Curriculum: How Ideology Trumped Evidence,” explores the federal education policies on reading. He was past President of the International Reading Association. His publications include over 100 articles, books and monographs.
The seminar is presented by LiteLife, educational consultants specializing in reading and writing instruction based in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
