I taught English in middle school and high school in Michigan and New York schools for 14 years before receiving my administrative certification. I then went on to become the assistant principal of Minisink Valley High School in Orange County, NY where I served for 11 years. I left that position to serve as assistant superintendent of personnel in Minisink Valley Central School District. Being the first to hold that position, I had the responsibility and honor of setting up the department for a district of 4,800 students and 650 employees. I became superintendent of schools of the district in 2003 and held that position for seven years. It is the greatest honor I’ve had in education. I have also served as an adjunct professor in the graduate schools of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY; New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY; and for the last eight years in the Educational Leadership Department of LIU Hudson. I was recently appointed as Program Director of the Educational Leadership and Administration Department here at LIU Hudson. I am privileged to help prepare today’s teachers to become leaders and policy makers of tomorrow’s K-12 schools.
