PharmD. Application Information

The PharmD. Program is a 6-year program that is separated into two phases, the Pre-professional Phase (years P-1 & P-2) and the Professional Phase (years P-3 to P-6).  Entry into either phase is very competitive and offers no guarantee of admission.  Selection for admission is based on several factors that include, but are not limited to:  high school average/grade point average; test scores; personal statement; letters of recommendation; and an interview (for applicants to the Professional Phase).

Pre-professional Phase (years P-1 & P-2) - Applications accepted on a rolling (continuous) basis; however preference will be given to those applications received by February 1st, 2015 for fall 2015

The university accepts 250 new freshmen applicants every fall semester.  Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) scores are also considered.  To apply, please submit the following materials:

  • Long Island University - Brooklyn Campus Undergraduate Application which includes:
  • Personal statement
  • Official high school transcript with up-to-date grades
  • Official SAT/ACT scores and, if taken, AP/IB scores
  • 2 Letters of recommendation (not required but recommended)

Professional Phase (year P-3) – Application deadline is March 2, 2015 for fall 2015
The university accepts approximately 200 applicants every fall semester.  The application pool consists of both LIU students and transfer students.  It is recommended that you submit your application 5-7 weeks prior to the deadline for timely consideration and review.  Website:  To apply, you must submit the following materials:

  • Personal statement
  • 2 Letters of recommendation (required)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended
  • Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) scores
