Blackboard is a Web-based course management system designed to allow LIU Pharmacy students and faculty to use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more.
The degree to which Blackboard is used in LIU Pharmacy courses varies. For example, instructors may supplement an on-campus class by putting their syllabus and handouts on their course sites. Recorded lectures, captured through LIU Pharmacy’s Echo360 system are also available on Blackboard. In other courses some class sessions may be conducted entirely through Blackboard rather an on-campus meetings.
Every LIU Pharmacy course is automatically created in Blackboard, but the instructor must first activate the Blackboard course site before students can access course content. When logging into Blackboard with your LIU credentials, each course you are enrolled in will automatically appear as a tab in the top navigation bar in your workspace.
You may log into Blackboard at this link: https://blackboard.liu.edu/ utilizing the same credentials as you utilize for MyLIU. Contact the helpdesk at LIU Brooklyn’s Browse technology store for assistance with Blackboard issues.
