Message to Principals
I am writing to let you know about the Summer Honors Institute @ LIU, an exciting new series of programs for highly motivated high school students. Because of the intensive nature of these programs, they require only your best students. Admission to the Institute will be selective. Fifty talented students will be chosen for each program from a pool of candidates nominated by high school principals across the country.
Drawing on the vast professional and cultural resources of our prime New York locations, these one-week intensives will enable students to immerse themselves in one of four fields of study. They’ll work closely with distinguished faculty mentors and gain invaluable experience through hands-on projects and field trips. Students will get a taste of college life—both in the classroom and through fun activities planned for their downtime—while exploring their interests and career goals. All accepted students will receive free tuition and housing.
We encourage you to nominate up to five students for each program. Visit www.liu.edu/HonorsInstitute for nomination forms and details about each program. The deadline for nominations is June 14, 2013.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com or 718-780-6500.
We look forward to seeing your students on campus.
All the best,
Vice President for Academic Affairs
