LIU Riverhead Commencement Set for May 10

Riverhead graduates will take part in joint ceremony with LIU Brentwood and LIU Post, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Andrea BisignaniRiverhead, N.Y. – Sixty students at LIU Riverhead will join fellow graduates from LIU Brentwood and LIU Post at Commencement on Friday, May 10, 2013, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the LIU Post campus in Brookville, Nassau County.

The Riverhead graduates include 37 students earning master’s degrees, nine earning advanced certificates and 14 undergraduates – including Andrea Bisignani of Riverhead, the first graduate of LIU Riverhead’s Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies – New Media.

Bisignani has already begun putting her degree to work, using social media to advertise her business selling scrapbooking kits. “It’s very, very relevant,” said Bisignani, 37, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. “It’s been very effective for my business.”

LIU Riverhead offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in an intimate campus settings, but with all the resources of one of the nation’s largest private universities.
