Long Island University at Riverhead to Hold Open House Aug. 5

Riverhead, N.Y. - Long Island University at Riverhead will hold an open house on Wednesday, Aug. 5 for individuals who are interested in pursuing degrees in education or homeland security management. The open house will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Long Island University Building on Suffolk County Community College's Eastern Campus in Riverhead. Prospective students can learn about admission requirements, degree programs, financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

Long Island University at Riverhead offers master's degrees and certification in subjects including childhood education, teaching students with disabilities and literacy education. In September, the location will offer undergraduate education for the first time - an upper-division Bachelor of Science in childhood education. Also offered is the Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis which expands employment opportunities for teachers and presents a promising option for those seeking a professional career change.

Long Island University at Riverhead offers the 36-credit Master of Science in homeland security management, the first of its kind in New York State, as well as a 15-credit advanced certificate. These fully online programs are taught by some of the nation's top security and law enforcement officials and are designed for professionals working in law enforcement, emergency management, the military, firefighting or HazMat operations, corporate or private security, the intelligence community, or any other homeland security field. These programs are beneficial to those who aspire to pursue management careers in various homeland security fields.
