M.S. in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
The 46-credit Master of Science degree in Childhood Education is designed for individuals who have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and wish to begin a new career as a certified school teacher or current teachers who seek additional training to advance their careers. Graduates are eligible for Initial Teaching Certification from New York State in Childhood Education for Grades 1 to 6. The M.S. degree is obtained at the end of the thesis semester which is completed after the student teaching experience.
The program is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, signifying it meets the highest standards of quality in preparing competent, caring and qualified professional educators who will teach and lead in pre-K through grade 12 schools.
