Position Description & Responsibilities: The Sports Information Assistant well be actively involved in all facets of the publicity and promotion of a 15-sport athletic department. Will perform game-day tasks, including but not limited to: recording sports statistics; writing press releases; producing game programs; updating web site content. Prior experience in writing, web design and working sporting events is not necessary, but it strongly desired. Some training will be available. New this year – Spring Session
NASA-USRP offers undergraduate students across the United States internships at NASA centers under the supervision of technical mentors. This prestigious program seeks rising sophomore, junior and senior students in the disciplines of engineering, math, computer science and life/physical sciences. Students may apply for 10-week summer session and15-week spring or fall session (flexible start and end dates). NASA-USRP provides students with hands-on, real-life research experiences that challenge, inspire and bring practical application to complement the students’ academic education. Stipends are $6,000 for the summer session and $9,000 for fall and spring, plus a round-trip travel allowance.

The University Director of Non-Exempt Payrolls reports to the Associate Controller for

Cooperative Education Coordinator

Position Description: Entry level position which reports to the Associate Director.
Responsibilities including placing students in cooperative education work experience, job

Director of Sports Information

Position Description: The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, located in Brookville, NY, seeks candidates for the position of Director of Sports Information. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of publicizing C.W. Post’s 15 NCAA Division II intercollegiate programs. These duties include serving as the central media contact for gameday operations at home events, as well as producing team media guides and game programs, writing press releases, while also maintaining the Athletic Department Web site and establishing a working relationship with the local media.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field, and at least three years of recent full-time work experience in a sports public relations setting is required. Must have impressive written and oral communication skills, and a proven ability to write, edit and produce press releases, media guides, brochures and web copy. Must be familiar with and be able to work in-game with TAS software, as well as show experience with QuarkXpress and PhotoShop software. Extensive hours, including nights and weekends are required. Some traveling with the teams required.

Position Description: New York University’s Fales Library and Special Collections is seeking a qualified part-time temporary processing archivist for its growing archive and manuscript collections.The Fales Library and Special Collections serves as the primary repository for special collections materials in the Bobst Library at New York University. The Library supports research by a wide range of scholars including undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and other researchers whose work relies on primary resource materials, including rare books, manuscripts, moving image materials, and archives. The Library has three conspectus level five collections, The Fales Collection of English and American Literature, which documents developments in prose fiction from 1740 to the present; the Downtown New York Collection, which documents the Downtown art scene from 1974-the present; and the Food Studies Collection, which documents American food history with a focus on New York City. Holdings include 10,000 linear feet of archive and manuscript material, and over 200,000 monographs and periodicals. Working under the supervision of the Fales Senior Archivist, the temporary processing archivist will be responsible for the archival processing of collections scheduled for offsite transfer. Responsibilities will include: archival processing, arrangement, re-housing, and description including both MARC AMC and EAD encoding.
Qualifications: Proven effectiveness in archival processing. ALA-accredited MLS or graduate degree with concentration in archival management. Candidates with experience processing collections and degree coursework towards an MLS or MA in Archival Management will also be considered. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities: The Ulysses Philomathic Library located in Trumansburg,
NY, is seeking a director replace our current director who is retiring. The
director supervises the work of two full time staff and approximately 25
volunteers. He/she is responsible for the management of the library, and
its programs and services. The director also seeks funding from various
governmental and granting agencies. Under the direction of the Board of
Trustees, the director ensures that the operations of the library conform
with the policies established by the Board and the regulations established
by the New York State Library.
Qualifications: A BA or BS degree is required, and an MLS is highly
desirable. Public or other library administrative experience is also
desirable as is supervisory experience. Applicants should have excellent
oral and written communication skills, and be able to establish effective
working relationships with a wide range of the community, including staff,
the volunteers, the Board, the schools, and the general public. He/she
should have knowledge of new information technologies and their application
to the public library setting.Compensation: This is a salaried position that requires a minimum of 35hours per week with a flexible work schedule. There will be events,programs, and meetings that involve some evenings and weekends. The salarylevel will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will becompetitive with our cohort libraries in the Finger Lakes Library System.

Position Description & Responsibilities: The Board of Trustees of the Kent Public Library in Carmel, New York seeks to hire a qualified professional to serve as our new Library Director. The Town of Kent is a growing community located approximately 60 miles north of New York City in the picturesque Hudson Valley region of New York State (close to the Connecticut border) with a population of over 14,000residents. The Kent Public Library celebrated its 40th anniversary in December of 2004 with the opening of a new, highly functional 10,500 sq. ft.
library that provides active community programs for all ages. The Director will be responsible for leading a staff of 14 employees in the management of our library's daily operations in addition to personnel administration, budget planning and oversight.
Qualifications: The competitive candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Masters of Library Science degree, in addition to practical library management experience of at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
