New Visual Identity for Our Campus
Effective January 1, 2012, the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University has adopted a new visual image that will serve as a public expression of our unique identity as a campus of LIU, one of the largest and most comprehensive private universities in the United States. We will henceforth be known as LIU Post — formalizing the initials by which generations of students and alumni have referred to Long Island University, and retaining the name of the historic campus that is rooted in 57 years of access and excellence.
The logo and campus name are part of a University-wide rebranding and recruitment effort adopted by the University Board of Trustees in October. The visual identity program was created to unify the university’s six campuses. Each campus has been assigned a striking and memorable logo and color scheme. The logo and the university’s new positioning statement, “Find Out How Good You Really Are,” will be incorporated into advertisements, websites, social media outlets and signage. The new initiative is designed to build broader recognition of the value of an LIU Post education, differentiate the institution from its private and public competitors, and continue to raise the university’s profile nationally and internationally.
Please join us in moving this important enterprise forward by communicating our new name and visual identity through your day-to-day interactions with the public and the campus community. The simplest way for the community to become accustomed to the LIU Post name is to incorporate it into your voicemail’s personal greeting, email signature and other printed correspondence.
