Jazz Combo

The LIU Post Jazz Combo, comprising vocalists and instrumentalists, explores jazz in a small group setting. The ensemble focuses on learning standard repertoire from the jazz and Latin traditions and emphasizes arranging and improvisation skills. The group is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of small ensemble jazz performance from the 1920's to the modern era, and incorporating personal influences from its current members. In October 2014, Jazz Combo performed for Wynton Marsalis, internationally renowned trumpeter and Musical Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. In addition to playing for a wide array of university events, Jazz Combo has been fortunate to perform internationally, most recently in Costa Rica (2013) and at the Jazz à Juan Festival in 2010. The Jazz Combo is under the direction of Matt Wilson and Jeff Lederer.
