Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) Accreditation
The master's degrees in School Counselor and Mental Health Counseling are nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), an independent agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit master's degree programs in a variety of specialties and concentrations in the field of counseling.
Americal Library Association (ALA) Accreditation
The Palmer School of Library and Information Science at LIU Post (which also offers courses at LIU Brentwood) administers the M.S. in Library and Information Science. The master's degree is one of only 62 programs accredited by the American Library Association in the United States and Canada. Graduating from an ALA-accredited program enhances career mobility by opening doors to the broadest range of job opportunities. Most employers require an ALA-accredited master's degree for professional level positions, and many states require an ALA-accredited degree to work as a professional librarian in public or school libraries.
