The 15-credit Health Care Management minor is designed for students who want to pursue a career as healthcare administrators and managers. Students will acquire the basic business and healthcare knowledge, skills and competencies to fill a variety of entry-level roles in such areas as health insurance, case management, human resources, marketing, sales, facility operations and office administration.
These positions are found in almost all healthcare delivery settings including hospitals, home-health agencies, long –term care facilities, medical group practices, pharmaceutical companies, fortune 500 companies, medical equipment companies, governmental agencies, and health insurance institutions. Health Care Management provides excellent opportunities for employment due to the tremendous expansion and diversification of the health care industry.
Students have the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in a health care setting through the Practicum Experience (HS490) and/or Independent Study (HS499).
