Alumni Membership Package
Alumni Members receive even more benefits
The annual Alumni Membership package unlocks additional exclusive benefits. Your Alumni ID card is your passport to additional discounts and campus access. Membership lasts for 1 year and can be renewed for as long as you wish.
For only $10 a year, alumni receive:
- Alumni Photo ID Card: Your Alumni ID Card grants access certain campus facilities including fitness centers and the libraries*. Additional fees may apply, but you will need an ID card to be eligible. You may also use your ID card to receive discounts for on-campus entertainment (including shows at the Tillis Center) and on select purchases at Campus Bookstores. Our hotel discount partners also require you to show your ID to receive discounts.
- LIU Email Address: Members who graduated prior to 2016 receive an @alumni.liu.edu email address. Please note that graduates from the classes of 2016 already have alumni email addresses.
- Microsoft 365 (Formerly Microsoft Office): Microsoft 365 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other useful software applications. LIU Alumni can access all of these tools as part of their $10 membership package. The retail price for this software subscription is $69.99 per year - that's an 85% discount!
- Handshake (LIU's Exclusive Job Portal): Get access to our exclusive job portal, with hundreds of new employment opportunities posted each week in every sector. Some of these opportunities are not posted anywhere else. Over 10,000 employers have been approved to post jobs on our portal, including some of the largest companies in America. And they all specifically requested to meet LIU students and alumni.

What happens next? After registering you will receive a follow up email including instructions to submit your ID photo, set up your alumni email account, Handshake account, Microsoft 365 product access, and how to acquire your Alumni ID.

To be considered an alumnus/alumna of LIU and receive alumni benefits, you must have a conferred degree from LIU.

Transcripts
You can order a copy of your transcript online. You may have it sent to directly to yourself or to another party, and there are several delivery methods available.

Online Defensive Driving Course
We've teamed up with NTSI to bring you online defensive driving courses. Receive a discount on car insurance and reduction in points once completed. Discounts and reductions vary from state-to-state. These programs are currently only available for alumni residents of New York and New Jersey.

Alumni Scholarship
Alumni and Legacy Scholarship
Are you a graduate returning to LIU to pursue another degree? Or do you have a close family member who graduated from LIU? We're pleased to offer two different award opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students based on alumni status. These annual awards of $500 are renewable for up to four years.
Eligibility Requirements
Graduate Alumni Scholarship
- Available to alumni pursuing their first master’s degree or second bachelor’s degree
- Applicant must be enrolled in nine credits per semester
Legacy Alumni Scholarship
- Available to grandchildren, children, or siblings of alumni
- Available for undergraduate degrees only
- Applicant must be enrolled in twelve credits per semester
How to Apply
On Campus Entertainment
Long Island University's performing arts venues host world-class music, dance, and theater productions. Your Alumni ID Card unlocks extra discounts on select entertainment events. Some restrictions apply, not all events are eligible for alumni discounts. Contact the box office to see if alumni discounts are available.

Educational Opportunities
Hutton House Lectures
LIU Alumni and community members are invited to attend classes in the Hutton House Lecture Enrichment Program. Courses are taught in Lorber Hall on the Post campus as well as online via Zoom. The lectures include an outstanding array of courses with more than 160 classes in art, music, philosophy, history, literature and political science.
