Description

Dr. Stagni is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy, Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY. She has a degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (CTF) from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, and a Master and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2000 she joined the Faculty at the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy, Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY. Research interests include pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic modeling, and the use of cutaneous microdialysis to study local and transdermal drug delivery via iontophoresis or passive delivery, modeling and prediction of skin concentration, and IVIVC for topical and transdermal delivery. Dr. Stagni teaches a number of courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level, mostly in the area of pharmacokinetics.

Specialties

Pharmacokinetics, intradermal microdialysis, transdermal and topical delivery (iontophoresis, microneedles, passive diffusion), development of methods for in-vitro/in-vivo correlation (IVIVC) of topical/transdermal drug products, pharmacodynamics

Research Interests:

Dr. Stagni’s group emphasis is on in vivo/ex vivo studies of percutaneous penetration, development of PK/PD and IVIVC models, dermal bioavailability, topical bioequivalence, and development of new topical/transdermal formulations.
