SCHOOL OF ARTS

Visual Arts

The Department of Visual Arts' classes aim to sharpen and heighten perception, craft, and technical skills. As a student with a minor in the Visual Arts and Studio Art programs, you may choose to concentrate in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking (traditional and digital), or photography.

During your exploration of your chosen medium, you will enjoy small classes with personal guidance from the art faculty who are professional artists and art historians. Students use sky-lit studios at the top of the Humanities building, enjoying panoramic views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. In the warmer months, we offer two large terraces that may be used for studio space.

The University maintains three on campus galleries that showcase local working artists.
