Jeanne Cleary Act

Jeanne Clery ActCrime Awareness & Campus Security Act of 1990

In accordance with the provisions of the Jeanne Cleary Act, Brooklyn Campus’ annual security report includes statistics for their previous three calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the Brooklyn Campus; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security issues, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assaults, and other relevant matter.

The following crime categories must be reported:

  • Murder
  • Sex Offenses: Forcible; Non Forcible
  • Robbery
  • Aggravated Assualt
  • Burglary
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Manslaughter
  • Arson
