Student Information

All LIU Brooklyn, Global, Hudson & College of Pharmacy graduates are encouraged to participate in the Commencement Ceremony on May 16, 2025. The ceremony will feature several commencement remarks and speakers, and each student physically in attendance will be recognized by name.

Ceremony Format

Long Island University will host its Commencement for the Class of 2025 at the Barclays Center. The ceremony will take place as follows:

  • Graduate Line-up: 8 a.m. (Dean Street Entrance)
  • Faculty and Platform Line-up: 8:30 a.m.
  • Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral Ceremony Begins: 9 a.m.

Ceremony RSVP & Guest Tickets

Instructions to access your Ticketmaster tickets for your registered guests will be sent to your LIU email before the ceremony. You are responsible for sharing these tickets with your registered guests. Tickets are valid for one-person only. All guests ages 2+ require a ticket.

Ceremony Policies

Each graduate must abide by the Long Island University Student Code of Conduct while participating in the ceremonies. Graduates may not bring any objects, flags, paraphernalia, or signs onto the commencement floor or stage. Only graduates are permitted to participate in the ceremony. Family members, young children, and pets (besides service animals) are not permitted to join graduates on stage or be on the commencement floor.

Graduation Eligibility

All graduating students must apply for graduation by April 1, 2025, and be in good financial standing to participate in Commencement, appear in the official program, and receive a diploma. Apply for graduation and ensure all academic and financial requirements are met through your MyLIU portal. Please contact your success coach for additional assistance.

Cap and Gown

All students can purchase a cap and gown through the University Bookstore. The cap and gown will be shipped directly to each student’s home or available for pick-up at the bookstore for on-campus students. For more information on purchasing a Cap and Gown, please click here

Please note:  Graduates must be in good financial standing and have satisfied their financial bill in order to pick-up their cap and gown and participate in Commencement.

Official Program

Each graduating student will receive a digital copy of the Official Commencement Program. The program will have a schedule of events, names of all graduates, and list honors and recognition.
