Student Information

All graduates are encouraged to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will feature several commencement remarks and speakers, and each student physically in attendance will be recognized by name.

Ceremony Format

Long Island University will host its Commencement for the Class of 2022 in-person. Graduates will receive an invitation via LIU email with a link to RSVP. To participate in Commencement and R.S.V.P. your maximum of guests, click here.

The ceremony will take place as follows:

• Ceremony Begins: 9:30 a.m.
• Graduate Line-up: 8 a.m. (Dean Street Entrance)
• Faculty and Platform Line-up: 8:30 a.m.

Commencement will be streamed live on the Commencement Website for others to view.

Personalized Slides

All graduating students will receive information on how to log into the graduation site to personalize their graduate slides. Graduates will have the opportunity to upload a photo.

Students will be able to download and share their personal slide on social media during or after the ceremony. Please note, slides will not be displayed as part of the formal ceremony.

Cap and Gown

All students can purchase a cap and gown through the University Bookstore. The cap and gown will be shipped directly to each student’s home or available for pick-up at the bookstore for on-campus students.

The Cap and Gown website is currently closed. Please visit the University Bookstore for a late-order. Please note: graduates must be in good financial standing and have satisfied their financial bill in order to pick-up their cap and gown and participate in Commencement.

Guest Tickets

Each graduate has the ability to invite eight (8) guests to the ceremony. The guest portal can be accessed at graduation.liu.edu. Please R.S.V.P. and add your guests no later than Friday, April 29, 2022. 

You will receive a separate email from Ticketmaster to your LIU email with your guest tickets included. You are responsibly for sharing these tickets with your registered guests. Guest Tickets are valid for one-person only.

Official Program

Each graduating student will receive a digital copy of the Official Commencement Program. The program will have a schedule of events, names of all graduates, and list honors and recognition.

COVID-19 Protocols

Commencement will follow all New York State and CDC guidelines throughout the ceremony.
