I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year. As we reflect on the previous year, I am so proud of all you did to make the fall semester safe and successful. I know that we can continue our success as we prepare to begin the spring 2022 semester.
I want to share some important updates with you as we gear up for our return to campus in a few weeks. Classes will begin on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. The College of Veterinary Medicine program classes begin on Monday, January 10, 2022. If you have not yet enrolled in classes, please contact Ashley.email@example.com to set up a time to register with a success coach.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Portal is now open for the spring 2022 semester. Each student is asked to log into the portal and re-enter their vaccination documentation for the new year. Keep in mind, all eligible LIU community members are expected to provide documentation of completing the COVID-19 booster by January 14, 2022 or within 14 days of becoming eligible. Students that have an approved exemption from the fall semester will be automatically reviewed and will receive a separate communication with additional instructions.
The University will resume in-person classes in the spring semester and will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and New York State Health Department. Students will have the opportunity to request a remote learning accommodation if they are unable to attend spring 2022 classes in-person due to COVID-19 related concerns. Students enrolled in clinically- or laboratory-based courses must participate in-person during the spring 2022 semester. Any student enrolled in these may work with their success coach to make appropriate schedule adjustments. To apply for a remote learning accommodation, please register at rem.liu.edu prior to January 14, 2022.
The COVID-19 Student Hotline is a great resource for students to ask questions or address concerns related to the pandemic. In addition, any student who needs to report a positive test may do so by calling the hotline and following the directions. Simply dial, 516-299-1300 or email Bklnfirstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. We are always here to help you.
I encourage you to continue checking your LIU email over the next few weeks and visit www.liu.edu/coronavirus to remain updated on any new information. Please reply to this email with any questions.
Thank you for doing your part in keeping our LIU community safe and together.
