Enrolling in Long Island University’s Student Refund Direct Deposit is a way for you to have all your financial aid refunds directly deposited into the bank account of your choice. After signing-up for this feature, you will electronically receive your financial aid refunds immediately and will no longer have to wait for a check to be mailed to you. You can also modify or update your bank account information at any time using your MyLIU account.
Please note that credit card payments will continue to be refunded to the original card as required by law.
How Do I Enroll?
Login to your MyLIU account using your student credentials and navigate to the My Student Center.
Click on the other financial drop-down in the Finances section. From the drop-down list, select Enroll in Direct Deposit and click the right double arrow button. The following screen will appear if the student has not enrolled in Direct Deposit yet.
Click the Enroll in Direct Deposit button to continue. The following screen will appear.
Enter your domestic bank account information into the following fields (international bank accounts are not eligible for direct deposit at this time):
Nickname - enter a name you wish to call this bank account
Account Type - select either checking or savings from the drop-down box
Bank Code – click on the magnifying class and type in your bank’s nine digit routing number and select from the drop-down list (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SEARCH FOR YOUR BANK – USE YOUR BANK’S ROUTING NUMBER INSTEAD)
Branch –this field will grey out after selecting the bank code and should be left blank
Account Number – enter your bank account number in this field
Confirm Account Number - reenter your bank account number in this field
Account Holder – enter the full name of the bank account owner (e.g., Mary S Smith)
Click the Next button to continue. The Bank Account Agreement page will be displayed.
Click the check box in front of Yes, I agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement. Click the Submit button to continue. The Bank Account Results page will then be displayed.
Now that your bank information has been entered, click the Proceed to Enroll in Direct Deposit. The Bank Account Summary page will be displayed.
Click Proceed to Enroll in Direct Deposit. The following screen will be displayed.
From the Bank Account Nickname drop-down box, select the account that you wish to use for direct deposit. Click the Next button. The Direct Deposit Agreement page will be displayed.
Click the check box in front of Yes, I agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement. Click the Submit button to continue. Congratulations – you have successfully enrolled in Student Direct Deposit Refunding! Your next refund will be automatically sent to your bank account on record.
How Do I Modify or Change My Banking Information?
If you wish to modify or change your Direct Deposit bank account, click on the Enroll in Direct Deposit from the drop-down box in the Finances section of the Student Center.
The Direct Deposit Summary page will be displayed. Click the Modify Direct Deposit button to continue.
The Bank Account Summary page will be displayed. Click the Proceed to Modify Direct Deposit to continue.
Click the Proceed to Modify Direct Deposit to continue. Select the account you wish to modify or change and follow the instructions provided previously on setting up a bank account.
