Billing & Payments

Students are billed for tuition and fees at the time of registration. Room and board charges are reflected at the time of room assignment. Students must make satisfactory payment arrangements prior to the start of each term or before moving into residence halls to remain in good financial standing.

Your MyLIU portal makes it easy to manage your college finances and to pay or view your bills online, 24/7/365, so that you can concentrate on your studies and make the most of your education. To begin, login to your My LIU account and click on the “Make an E-Payment” icon from the Student Homepage to reach our secure Payment Gateway. Login to the Gateway using your MyLIU credentials.

  • To make a payment, select “Make a Payment” and choose the amount you would like to pay. You can use a credit or debit card (subject to a 2.85% transaction fee), bank account (subject to a $0.50 transaction fee), or 529 Savings Plan (if your plan is supported – additional plans will be added throughout the academic year).
  • To sign up for a monthly payment plan, click on the “Payment Plans” menu item and select “Enroll in Plan.” You will be required to make a down payment at the time of signup. The payment plan fee is $35 per term.
  • To make a tuition or housing deposit, click on the Deposits menu item and then select the term and deposit payment type.
  • Click on the “My Account” section to update basic information, add saved payment methods, add payers to your account (like your parents or guardian), opt in or out of SMS notifications, and to change the terms and conditions relation to your account’s privacy.
  • To sign up for tuition insurance with GradGuard, click “Add Tuition Insurance Now”

Bills are sent electronically to your MyLIU email account; paper bills are also mailed to your address on file prior to the start of each semester. Click on the tabs below for more information about managing your Student Account.

International Student Payments

The LIU Payment Portal supports international payments from over 150 countries and accepts over 125 different currencies. Students can enjoy same-day transfers, competitive rates, and no international wire fees. Each country setup is specifically designed for ease of use. You can also set up an authorized payer to pay on your behalf once you have logged into the secure payment gateway.

After selecting “Make a Payment,” choose the international payment option and select your local country. You will then be asked to enter your bank information. To complete the transaction, you must send the wire from your bank using the instructions provided. If your account becomes seriously past due and no arrangements are made, the University will initially send you for pre-collection services for 90 days before referring it to an external collection agency or law firm, where additional fees and penalties of 25-40% may be charged to your account in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

If you register for courses and decide not to attend, you must officially withdraw your registration prior to the end of the first week of classes to avoid liability. You can withdraw online using your MyLIU account through the first week of the term.
