Capstone students receive an unlimited Metrocard each month to ride NYC’s subways and buses.
Housing & Food
Students have a number of housing options that include living in the on-campus dormitory, off-campus student residences, shared apartments, etc. Most LIU Global students choose to find their own rentals with other students studying in NYC. Most LIU Global students choose to live in Brooklyn and Queens.
Meal plans are available for students who live on campus. New York provides a plethora of experiences for all tastes, including inexpensive ethnic restaurants, cafes, vegetarian eateries, etc. Brooklyn is a culturally diverse area that offers abundant Caribbean, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Kosher, and other foods from every region of the world.
Capstone students do not pay a room and board fee.
Local Services
Students at the New York City Center are able to use the facilities of LIU Brooklyn. The campus supports campus-wide labs with many computers for student use. Classrooms and common spaces include wireless Internet access and desktop computers.
Other student services available at LIU Brooklyn include the Library, the Writing Center, the Center for Learning & Academic Success, etc.
Health & Safety
LIU Brooklyn, through a partnership with The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC), offers comprehensive medical services to our students. TBHC is located near the University at 240 Willoughby Street, on the corner of Willoughby Street and Ashland Place.
Students may utilize the Psychological Services Center, which provides free and confidential personal counseling to students. All services are provided by doctoral candidates in Clinical Psychology who are supervised by licensed psychologists.
