Mary Ellen Ternes


Mary Ellen Ternes, BE (ChE), JD, partner Earth & Water Law, LLC, is a senior environmental attorney with a prior USEPA and industry career utilizing chemical engineering in environmental remediation, and hazardous waste treatment and a frequent contributor regarding the law and science of plastic waste and pollution mitigation for the GCSE (French-American Workshop, Le Mans, France, OPESCT Round Table Discussions, December 2019), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), American Bar Association (ABA), American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL), and the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) (2021 consensus paper “Reckoning with the United States Contribution to Global Ocean Plastic Waste.”). Mary Ellen is a Fellow of AIChE, as well as Fellow and Immediate Past-President of ACOEL.
