Francois Galgani

Francois Galgani is project manager at IFREMER, France. He specialized in marine environmental Sciences and marine litter, with over 170 peer reviewed articles and reports to the EU commission. F Galgani has chaired the European DG Env./ MSFD group on marine litter (115 experts, 2010-2022), co-chaired the UN /GESAMP group on plastic pollution (2017-2021), and member of various international and technical groups on marine litter (UNEA/Science Advisory Committee, G7 and G20, OSPAR and UNEP MAP. Francois Galgani is editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Marine Pollution Bulletin (Elsevier) and convenor for the chapter Marine litter of the UN World Ocean Assessment II.
