Honors Green Program

The LIU Post Honors College is committed to a healthy, sustainable world. Honors students have a a unique opportunity to participate in Honors Green, a series of courses grounded in environmental awareness and focused on preparing you for careers committed to a greener future. Students opting for Honors Green take two classes each semester of their first year at LIU Post and can also take advantage of field-based learning, volunteer work, and internships:

  • Field-based Learning: Visit one of America’s national parks through the National Collegiate Honors Council’s “Partners in the Parks Program.” This one-week experiential immersion will take you around the country to some of the most impressive natural wonders—the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Acadia, the Everglades, and more! In your junior year, you may join students in our unique LIU Global program that will takes students around the world. 

  • Volunteer Work and Internships: Turn classroom theory into real-world practice by working with environmental organizations across Long Island. Find unique placements in nature preserves, animal rescue organizations, farms, nurseries, fisheries, wineries, and local green businesses.
