Jeff Hoops joined the LIU-Post faculty as a full-time Assistant Professor in September 2013. He teaches tax and accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
Prior to joining the LIU-Post faculty, Jeff spent 39 years of his professional career with Ernst & Young LLP (EY). He joined EY’s (then Ernst & Ernst) Long Island Office in 1974. He transferred to the firm’s National Tax Office in 1980 and to the New York Office in 1983. Jeff was admitted to the partnership in 1984. He has spent most of his career advising clients on tax matters including accounting for income taxes, consolidated returns, partnerships and international transactions.
In 2005, Jeff was appointed as EY’s first Americas Ethics and Compliance Officer. He was also appointed as Chief Privacy Officer. In these roles he was responsible for coordinating those activities and processes at EY that promote a culture of high ethical standards, and compliance with the EY Global Code of Conduct, and the law.
