Professor Jacobsen has been a Registered Nurse for 37 years, working in Med-Surg., ICU and addiction services. He has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years practicing in Family Medicine and Pediatric Medicine. He is a member of: Sigma Theta Tau – Kappa Gamma Chapter and Alpha Eta Honor Society for the Allied Health Professions.Professor Jacobsen has been at LIU for over 9 years and served as Program Director of the FNP program for 7 years. Professor Jacobsen is dedicated to educating the next generation of Family Nurse Practitioners through creative and interactive courses that focus on preparing students for independent practice.
