Description

Lori M. Newman is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist who serves as the Clinical Director of the Ladge Speech and Hearing Center, as well as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at LIU Post. Her clinical background is in pediatrics with specialty areas in autism spectrum disorder and early childhood development. She has many years of experience evaluating and treating communication and feeding disorders in children aged birth-5 years of age and is trained in applied behavioral analysis (ABA), as well as the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). She also has over twenty years of experience in clinical supervision and is currently responsible for the oversight and ongoing development of the clinical education of the graduate level program. This includes in-house and external clinical practicum, as well as computer-based clinical simulation, experiences.
