Description
Dr. Olivieri joined our Department of Nursing in the Graduate FNP Department September 2016. She brings to our students over 30 years of Diabetes experience. She has over 15 years of Cardiovascular work experience, Family Practice and overall Endocrinology knowledge. In this era of health problems associated with obesity and diabetes, this is relevant and invaluable information for our students as they enter the workforce.
As a graduate of our own LIU Graduate Nursing Program, Dr. Olivieri has the unique perspective of what our program offers to our students. She continually strives to improve it based on emerging research towards improving student as well as patient outcomes.
Specialties
Dr. Olivieri maintains the designation as Certified Diabetes Educator. This is a National Board Certification through the NCBDE (National Certifying Board of Diabetes Educators), supported by the AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators). This is a well-recognized certification by employers as well as patients. It is one that will continue to garner exceptional value in local communities for its relevance to the plethora of chronic diseases so prevalent in society today.
