Description

Dr. Porrini has a Ph.D. in Management and Finance, an M.Ph. in statistics, an M.B.A. in Finance, Management and International business, and a B.S. in Finance, Management and International Business from the Stern School of Business of New York University. Dr. Porrini graduated her B.S. and M.B.A. programs summa cum laude, receiving numerous awards and distinctions.

For the academic years 2001 to date, Dr. Porrini served as a Professor of Management at the LIU Post Campus of Long Island University. Dr. Porrini has received numerous awards. In 2008 and 2004 Dr. Porrini received the Professional Experience and Career Planning Professor of the Year Award. In 2006, Dr. Porrini received the Eastern Academy of Management Outstanding Empirical Paper Award. In May of 2003, Dr. Porrini received the Long Island University College of Management Recognition Award for Excellence in Teaching, a college-wide award. Dr. Porrini currently serves as Director and Chapter President for the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter of LIU Post and received the Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year award in May 2004.

Dr. Porrini has delivered papers and chaired symposia at conferences of the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, Eastern Academy of Management, International Conference of Advances in Management, Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, M&A Summit, and the Global Conference on Business and Economics. She has served as editorial reviewer for the Academy of Management, Business Policy Division, Eastern Academy of Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of High Technology Management Research, Academy of Management, and McGraw Hill-Irwin. Dr. Porrini has also authored articles that have appeared in the Journal of Management, Journal of High Technology Management Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Comparative International Management and the International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences. As well, her articles have appeared in numerous conference proceedings. Dr. Porrini also co-authored Above the Board: How Ethical CEOs Create Honest Organizations, a book published by McGraw Hill.

Her areas of teaching, research and professional consulting activities focus on mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances, negotiation, high-technology organizations and firm performance.
