Description
Ed Chiarello serves as Adjunct Professor of Music and supervisor of student teachers at LIU Post. Previously, he retired as Director of Fine & Performing Arts for the Baldwin School District. Ed also serves currently as NYSSMA Zone 13 Representative, presiding over all NYSSMA activities in Nassau County. He adjudicates major instrumental ensembles for the Long Island Music Festival, and previously served as State Percussion Chair.

- Jazz CD titled "The Bridge", 1998 release, performing jazz drums and latin percussion the music of composer David Hechendorn.
- Original contemporary orchestral CD titled "Stranger in the Time Worn Glass", also the music of composer David Hechendorn, 2014 release, performing concert percussion instruments.
- Currently recording “The Oracle” a jazz concept album for release in 2018 and “Soliloquy” a jazz trio album due for release in 2018.
Performances
Ed Chiarello remains busy as a NYC theater musician having performed the World Premiere of “The Man in the Ceiling”, May-June 2017, book by Pulitzer Prize winner Jules Feiffer, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, based on the novel The Man in the Ceiling by Jules Feiffer, and directed by Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller. Professor Chiarello additionally plays jazz drums for the LPJO, a sixteen piece jazz ensemble that performs regularly and is employed to give concerts and workshops. Ed performed the Broadway Equity Tour of “Grey Gardens”, starring Betty Buckley, and the world premiere of “My Life is a Musical”, by Adam Overett. He also performed the Equity tour of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, Ethyl Will, musical director (conductor of the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular). Ed worked for the Tanglewood Music Festival - Jacobs Pillow - Broadway Dance revue under choreographer Chet Walker (Fosse) and musical director Steve Marzullo. He additionally continues to play workshops and NY City Theater performances for both AMDA and the NYC - TADA Children’s Theater “Banned Broadway” / Dec. 2016, “History Mystery” /Jan-Feb 2017, “New York, New Year”, April – May 2017, and “Everything About a Day”, July-August, 2017.
