About Summer Writing Program

Welcome to The LIU Brooklyn Summer Writing Program! Our mission is to uplift the Brooklyn writing community and provide invaluable guidance for writers everywhere looking to kickstart their careers. Join us to learn from prolific and award-winning published authors in thriving genres, including Romance Novels, Book Club Reads, Fantasy & Horror, Young Adult, and Literary Fiction.

We're thrilled to announce our successful Creative Writing Workshop, Kickstarting Your Novel, will return for Summer 2026. Built for writers who want to kickstart a commercially-minded novel career, this Graduate Level workshop will be taught by award winning author Hannah V. Sawyerr. Registrations are first-come, first served and class size is limited, so we recommended registering early.

We're also thrilled to announce two brand new Weeklong Writing Intensives that offer comprehensive guides for popular publishing trends. The first Intensive, Crafting Romances of All Kinds, will be taught by experienced romance author and professor Priscilla Oliveras. The second Intensive, A Guide To Self-Publishing, will be taught by the trailblazing publishing expert Julie Trelstad.

We can't wait for you to join us in forming a signature writing experience from Brooklyn.
