London, UK – The Business of Culture in a Global Capital
Dates: January 9 – 18, 2026
Course Title: GEUR 398 – The Business of Culture in a Global Capital: Exploring London Through Art, Sport, and Theater
Course Description: This course offers students immersive academic and cultural experiences in one of the world’s most influential cities, London. Through site visits to major museums, architectural landmarks, pop culture, and heritage sites, students will examine how London uses its cultural assets—such as art, architecture, sports, theater, and cinema—as drivers of tourism, branding, and global influence. The program explores the intersection of tradition and innovation, revealing how culture functions not only as a form of national identity but also as a dynamic global industry. Students will engage critically with professionals, institutions, and everyday environments, enhancing their understanding of cultural production, economic value, and international perception.
